Meet Author- Gloria Shell Mitchell

Dr. Mitchell is not only an author of The Garbage Man’s Daughter Series, but she is a credentialed educator, divorce group facilitator and youth minister for more than thirty years. She has done extensive research in the areas of family, marriage, divorce, and holds a doctorate in ministry.
Dr. Mitchell believes that helping adults become better parents leads to healthier home environments for growing children. Dr. Mitchell has hosted a radio program over 20 years called "Good News For You". The radio program is a division of Joy Youth Services, www.joyyouthservices.org, a faith-based organization for disadvantaged youth in which Dr. Mitchell is founder. The primary program is known as "Chess Between You and Me" in which children are taught mathematics as well as life skills.
Dr. Mitchell's overall mission in life is to strengthen youth and families. Whether through her books, radio, the internet or Joy Youth Services, Dr. Mitchell continues to strive daily to achieve this goal.
