The following is a series of poems written by me. The poems are based on my personal experiences and feelings. As I go through life battling this disease, I experience a broad range of emotions on a daily basis. I chose to reveal my emotions to the world not only to give you a taste of my deepest thoughts and feelings but also to reveal what others similar to me may experience while battling this illness or any illness. The life of a person with Lupus isn’t easy. I’ve been battling with this part of my life for over 18 years now and it’s all because of the complication of this illness that I experience so many complex emotions. After reading this, I hope that you not only appreciate your life a little bit more, but also appreciate the life of others surrounding you. We are not meant to travel down the same path, we are not meant to experience the same experiences, but I do believe we are meant to live on the same earth and grasp some type of meaning of life.

Dee Woolridge is the founder of The Heart Centered Institute, LLC where teaching is focused on new thought, spirituality, personal growth, transformation, and positive change. A natural intuitive and people person, she has spent over 28 years in public service to her country and community. As a Navy public affairs officer (active and reserve), she assisted countless service members, communities, families, and civic organizations on outreach projects, such as Habitat for Humanity, and The Boys and Girls Club of America. She also worked on the joint communication integration team for Afghanistan and Iraq. 
Her practice as a hypnotherapist, spiritual counselor, life coach, and energy healer originated over 24 years ago with the premature birth of her daughter who was later diagnosed with autism. She sought out holistic health treatments to aid in the healing process of her child and her family. She studied essential oils, meditation, energy healing, crystal properties, hypnotherapy, and other integrative health methods, which have now become a way of life. She beliefs that self-care is caring for the whole self – mind, body, and spirit.
The discoveries she shared have helped many people through the years and the experiences were found to be even more valuable when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 51. Now a healthy and hardy cancer survivor, she is a huge proponent of food as medicine and hypnosis to help uncover and heal the root causes of disease and chronic illness. She shares her story of conventional, and integrative/holistic treatments to heal mind body and spirit when she speaks around the country.
Dee believes that she is divinely directed and guided to do this transformational type of work. “I believe that I am chosen to be one of earth’s teachers and guides – a bacon of light to others just as my teachers have been to me.”  She is a perpetual student of the mind, body, spirit healing concept and uses what she’s learned to help others.
Education and training
Dee Woolridge earned a Bachelor’s of Science and Masters of Business Administration. She also holds credentials in hypnotherapy, ministry and spiritual counseling, life coaching, public speaking, energy healing and aromatherapy. Dee has had the most comprehensive Hypnotherapy training in the Country. She is a graduate of  The Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy, now holding credentials as a Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist and Certified Interpersonal Hypnotherapist. Dee is also a member of the International Association of Interpersonal hypnotherapists. Dee is a certified presenter, teacher, and holds regular classes and workshops at The Heart Centered Institute. She has been the host and co-host of numerous talk shows, such as Spiritually Speaking, and A Higher Realm.  She is the author of 101 Uses for Hypnosis and many articles on hypnosis, self-help, personal empowerment and life coaching.
