![]() Welcome to the very first day of our 2023's 30 Day Kindness Challenge! I am SO glad you are here! When I first started the Kindness Challenge back in 2014, I really had no idea it would keep going for so many years. I am so grateful to those who participate year after year and for those who have participated only one year or another. Acts of kindness just has a way of bringing people together. Each year the Kindness Challenge changes a bit and there was one year, all I could muster was rolling out memes about kindness... but we get to try and do better this year. I always have such BIG plans for the Kindness Challenge each year, and every year it sneaks up on me before I realize it. This year, I released the Lavender Letters subscription for Mother's Day in May and that took up much more time than I anticipated, so once again, the Challenge is only allowed to expand to the time I can afford to give it. I can promise you one thing, whether I am announcing the goings-on of the Challenge or including other activities along with it, I- me personally- always take action on it. I look forward to it every year. Just like Valentine's Day practically gives you license to love on everyone- I've made June the same with random acts of kindness. (The sneaky ones are my favorite!) This year I have a bit more tech savvy under my belt so I'll be able to incorporate a few more things. The mini- challenges and the FREE download is new this year... progress. lol But let us begin, shall we? Here is my suggestion for the very first day of our Ninth Year of the Kindness Challenge. Words. Your words can have such a HUGE impact on everyone around you and even yourself. On this first day, pay attention to the words you are using. Do they lift people up? Or do they tear people down. How do you speak to yourself? How are the words the drift sometimes unnoticed in our minds affection our emotions? And in turn affect our actions? How can you add words that speak kindness... patience... compassion... understanding... praise... and love to others today? Give a compliment... a sincere one. Speak words of gratitude. Say please and thank you. Tell those you love, how much they mean to you. Tell them, you love them. You have no idea how your words can have a lasting effect on others. For some, it might be the only kind words they hear all day. For others, you may wash away guilt or fear from someones thoughts. And still others, they may crave a kind and gentle word from someone... anyone. Let it be you. Let it be today. Let me know in the comments how you've chosen to take on this task of choosing words of kindness to start the month of strong! I am grateful for you. I believe in you. I sincerely hope you have an amazing day. Happy Day One!
